Village A Prospect Street Apartments Village A

Village A apartment complex is located between New South and Lauinger Library. The upperclass apartment complex is designed as a series of townhouses with connecting catwalks. Access to indoor stairwells and covered walkways provide sheltered transportation during rain and cold temperatures. Some Village A apartments contain private balconies with sliding glass doors, which provide a spectacular view of the Potomac River. Other apartments share outdoor patios. Rooftop apartments have large decks with a clear view of Rosslyn, Virginia and several Washington landmarks such as the Washington Monument, Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials, Kennedy Center, and Watergate Hotel.

General Information
  • Village A consists of four-person apartments; each apartment has its own entrance. The upper levels of apartments are accessible by a network of staircases and walkways. There is also an elevator.
  • Apartments within Village A have various layouts and views. There are three floor plans: one-level, split-level, and two-level.
  • Village A living rooms hold either one sofa and one easy chair or a love seat and two easy chairs, a bookshelf, two wardrobes, lamps, and a dining table with chairs.
  • The kitchen may be located at the end of the living room, or separated from the living room by a wall. Kitchens contain an electric range, double sink with disposal, spacious cabinets and drawers, and a full size refrigerator.
  • The bathroom is designed with double sinks and a toilet, and either a shower or shower/tub combination. There is a hall closet for extra storage.
  • All apartments have two double bedrooms, furnished with two beds which have drawers underneath. The rooms also have desks with shelves above. Closets within the bedrooms are open, without doors, and have shelf space on top.
  • Apartments are fully carpeted and have their own temperature control.
  • HoyaNet cable is available for a small activation fee and a monthly service fee. A cable-ready television set is required.
  • Rooms are wired with one data connection per student, giving students access to the local area network and to the Internet. Apartments contain one phone jack in the living room, as well as one in each bedroom.
  • The Residence Hall Office (RHO) which serves Village A is located in the lobby of nearby New South Hall. The RHO handles package delivery, lockouts and room check-in for New South and Village A residents.
