Alumni Square

Alumni Square is located just outside the University main gates. The building complex was completed in 1980, and is comprised of four buildings: Groves, Beh, McBride and McCahill, named after Georgetown alumni. The complex is constructed around a grassy courtyard with shade trees, park benches and a brick walkway from O Street to N Street.

General Information
  • The complex consists of four-person apartments located on three levels. Each apartment contains two bedrooms and one bathroom, living/dining room and kitchen. Each apartment is approximately 700-800 square feet.
  • The living/dining room is large and has numerous windows. Living rooms are furnished with a sofa, two armchairs, two lamps, a coffee table, an end table, and a dining room table with four chairs. A large shelf unit provides space for stereo, CDs and books.
  • Located down the hall from the living room, the two double bedrooms each have built-in bunk beds facing two full size closets on the opposite wall. Two desks with lights and overhead shelves are at the far end of the room alongside a window. A chair is provided for each desk.
  • The kitchen is located off the hallway between the living room and bedrooms. Although small, it is equipped with a gas range and sink disposal. Cabinets and drawers are under the counter, with cabinets overhead. Two refrigerator units sit under the counter. Some apartments have a separate refrigerator and a separate freezer; in others, the two refrigerators have built-in freezers.
  • The bathroom, located by the bedrooms, is divided into two rooms. The outer room contains two sinks, cabinet space and a large mirror. The inner room contains a toilet and tub/shower.
  • HoyaNet cable service is available for a small activation and monthly service fee. A cable-ready television set is required.
  • Rooms are wired with one data connection per student, giving students access to the local area network and to the Internet. Each apartment has one phone jack in the living room, and one in each bedroom.
  • The Residence Hall Office (RHO) is located off the courtyard. The RHO handles package delivery, lockouts and room check-in for Alumni Square residents.
