The Office of Housing Services uses an online program called CHARMS (Campus Housing Roommate Matching System) allows students the opportunity to select their own roommate if they so choose. You are not required to participate in this program. If you prefer, the Housing Office will match you with a roommate based on your answers to the questions on the Living Preference Questionnaire.
All students who will live on campus are required to complete a Living Preference Questionnaire. This questionnaire will be used either by CHARMS' participants or by the Housing Office to match roommates. The deadline for completing the Living Preference Questionnaire is 5:00 p.m. EDT Monday, June 15, 2009 for freshmen. Questionnaires will be accepted after this date, but we may not be able to honor all preferences. Transfer students will have until Tuesday, July 14, 2009 to complete the questionnaire as they will not use CHARMS.
Students who wish to participate in CHARMS will have from Tuesday, June 16, 2009 until Tuesday, July 14, 2009 to select a roommate. After that date, the Housing Office will do roommate pairings based on your answers to the questions on the Living Preference Questionnaire.
All room assignments will be made by the Housing Office. You will be notified of your room assignment by the first week in August.
