Study Abroad and Leave of Absence Housing Information

Housing Application for 2010-2011 Academic Year:

Students Studying Abroad Fall 2009

Housing selection is conducted completely on-line. If you have access to a computer while abroad, you may participate in the selection process on-line. See the Housing Selection section for further information.

You must complete the Housing Application found here by October 6, 2009 if:
  • You will not have access to a computer and
  • Will be entering the eligibility and/or selection process as a single student (e.g. not as part of a group) or
  • Entering the eligibility and/or selection process as a group of students, all of whom are abroad and without computer access.
You have the option of appointing either another student or the Housing Office to serve as your on-campus sponsor. Check the appropriate box and record the appropriate information in the "On-Campus Housing Sponsor" section of the linked form. If another student will serve as your sponsor, the Housing Office will still need to register the student as your sponsor.

Students on a Leave of Absence

If you are currently on a leave of absence, you are not able to participate in the 2010-2011 Housing Selection process. Once you have been reinstated to the University, you may submit a request for housing. Assignments will be made on space availability.

Spring Wait List 2010:
(Housing Information for Study Abroad/LOA Students Returning Spring 2010)

Students who are currently studying abroad can request to live on campus during spring semester 2010. In order to request on-campus housing, please email the following information to campushousing@georgetown.edu with the subject line "Spring Wait List".
  • Name
  • ID#
  • School/Class Year
  • Email address
  • Winter Break phone number
  • Type of Housing Wanted (Building Preference, Roommate(s) names, etc.)
Once we have received the above information, you will be added to the wait list for on-campus housing for the spring semester. Traditionally, we are able to accommodate all students who come to campus spring semester in need of housing. The Housing Office will begin notifying students in early December about placement. By this time, we will have identified all of the vacancies on campus for the spring semester.

If you have a specific room/roommate that you would like to request, please let us know before that time. If you have a specific apartment you would like to add into, you may request to be placed in that apartment. We must receive this request from you, as well as receive a Vacancy Filling Request Form from all of the students still in the apartment requesting that you live with them by November 19, 2009 in order to honor this request. Print a copy of the Vacancy Filling Request Form HERE and return it to the Housing Office by November 19, 2009.
