Dear Resident(s):

Our records indicate that one or more vacancies exist in your room or apartment for the 2009-2010 academic year. Beginning the first week of July, we will begin housing new students. If you would like to name a student to fill the space before we begin housing new students, please contact the Office of Housing Services in 103 Harbin Hall no later than 5:00 p.m., June 30th. After this date, a switch freeze will be in place until August 1st. If you do not choose to name someone, we reserve the right to fill the vacancy.

Please keep in mind that vacancies are filled with concern for the current residents, but students are obligated to accept a roommate assigned by Housing Services. Any attempt to discourage another person from moving in will be considered a breach of the agreement. This breach will be considered by the University to be sufficient grounds for disciplinary action including a fine. Please refer to section (13) of the Housing Occupancy Agreement for more information regarding this policy.

Your considerate participation in this process would be helpful. If you do not name someone and would like to inform us of your living preferences so that we may make a better match, please send a reply to campushousing@georgetown.edu with your responses to the following questions. In addition, please rank each question with a rating of 1-5 with (1) being least important and (5) being most important. If you have any additional comments, you are welcome to note that as well. If you have any questions, please let us know. Thank you for your cooperation.
  1. Do you smoke?
  2. Is keeping your room neat and clean important?
  3. Where do you plan on doing most of your studying/homework? (In your room or elsewhere)
  4. Will you listen to music in your room or apartment?
  5. What time on a typical weekday do you wake up and go to sleep?

Sincerely,
Office of Student Housing
