Dear Fall Resident,

The web site for summer late stay and fall early arrival will be open for sign up July 8 -17, 2009. Students who are returning as a part of an organization should assure those organizations have included him/her on their list before July 17. If you are part of a group, DO NOT sign up as an individual. Individuals needing to remain beyond their summer occupancy dates or arrive earlier than the August 30 returning student arrival date must sign up at this time. Summer late stay charges between the end of the summer occupancy date and August 26 are $20/night. To request late stay, please visit the web site at http://housing.georgetown.edu/

Authorized reasons for requesting summer late stay/early arrival are:
  • Attending a summer school course or campus summer program and living on campus during the fall
  • Participating in a DC summer internship and living on-campus during the fall.
  • An on-campus department has requested late stay/early arrival on the student's behalf. It is the responsibility of the resident to ensure that the department has submitted the request to the Office of Housing Services.

Upperclass students not participating in a summer program or an orientation program are scheduled to return on August 30, 2009. Requests to arrive earlier than that date must be submitted during this sign up period. You will be notified of whether your request was approved by August 5. Individuals not on campus for the summer should not request arrival before August 26, 2009. Students who have roommates participating in programs that allow their early arrival should not plan to come because a roommate is approved to arrive early. Keys will not be issued keys nor will GOCard access be provided until the date he/she is scheduled to arrive. Students approved for early arrival may be assigned to temporary assignments if their fall assignment is not available on the arrival date or if the early arrival program requires assignment to designated location. Please keep in mind that painting, cleaning, construction and lock changes will be in progress through opening weekend. Check in time is at 4pm. Please plan accordingly.

We appreciate your cooperation with this sign up period to allow us to better prepare for fall arrival. Requests received after July 17, 2009 may not be able to be accommodated. Requests that can be accommodated after the deadline will be charged $50/night for stays prior to August 26, 2009.

If you have questions regarding this information, please do not hesitate to contact our office.

Thank you,
Office of Student Housing
