Dear Students,
The Housing Office would like to remind you that the deadline for the Campus Housing Roommate Matching System (CHARMS) is 9:00 am Eastern on Monday, July 13, 2009.
We hope that by this time you have used CHARMS to search for potential roommates and have exchanged messages with those students. Please keep the deadline in mind as you finalize your work in CHARMS. It is best not to wait until right before the deadline to try to secure your roommate match. Remember that a roommate pair is formed when one student extends a roommate invitation, and the recipient goes online to accept the invitation. When that happens, all other pending invitations for either of those two students are voided.
A relatively small number of students have found a roommate at this point, so there are still a good number of students who remain in the pool of potential roommates. Keep in mind that as the week progresses, and more students form roommate pairs, the pool from which you may select a roommate will decrease.
If at any point you wish to remove yourself from the CHARMS process, follow the "Remove yourself from the CHARMS process" link on the main menu and follow the instructions. This will allow the Housing staff to begin to pair you with other students who have similarly opted out of CHARMS.
Beginning on Monday, July 13, after 9am the Housing staff will begin to pair all remaining students. After all students have been paired, the staff will begin the process of placing roommate pairs into housing assignments. You will learn of your assignment and, for those students who did not choose a roommate through CHARMS, the name of your roommate, in the first week of August.
