Dear Students,
The Office of Housing Services offers two programs that you may want to consider as you make your housing decisions for the next academic year.
International Roommate Program (IRP):
The International Roommate Program, co sponsored by the Office of International Programs and the Housing Office, pairs Georgetown undergraduate students with international students who are studying here under an exchange arrangement or who are transfer students from foreign countries. Application can be made for a double room to be shared with an international student or an apartment to be shared with other Georgetown students and a foreign student. The Housing Office will provide you with an International Roommate Selection Code so that you can include an international student when you apply and select your housing.
Students in apartment groups can request an international student to join their group. This request must be made in writing, signed by all the roommates, and delivered to the Housing Office before 5:00 by Friday, February 15, 2008 for students in the class of 2011.
IRP applications are available on the Housing web site. Applications are due as follows:
Class of 2011 Monday, February 11, 2008, with results available by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2008.
Transfer Student Roommates:
The Transfer Roommate Program pairs Georgetown undergraduate students with transfer students who come to the University. This provides a unique opportunity to help introduce a new student to the University. Application can be made for a double room to be shared with a transfer student or an apartment to be shared with other Georgetown students. The Housing Office will provide you with a Transfer Selection Code so that you can include a transfer when you apply and select your housing or when you are to name a students to fill the spaces in the apartment. I
Students in apartment or townhouse groups can request a transfer student to join their group, but the transfer student may not be one of the four original group applicants. This request must be made in writing, signed by all the roommates, and delivered to the Housing Office before 5:00 by Friday, February 15, 2008 for students in the class of 2011.
Transfer Roommate applications are available on the Housing web site. Applications are due as follows:
Class of 2011 Monday, February 11, 2008, with results available by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2008.
The Housing Office will receive information about International and Transfer students during the summer. The staff will assign students to the residence based on the application information from the international or transfer student and the application completed by current students.
Please let our office know if you have additional questions about these programs.
