Dear Students,
Eligibility:
According to our records, you have eligibility for the 2008-2009 academic year and are not currently housed. You may still use your eligibility to enter the selection for residence hall rooms and apartment space (see below).
If you have decided not to select on campus housing, please go to your Housing-At-A-Glance page to decline your eligibility. This will allow students on the wait list who want to live on campus the opportunity to be offered on campus housing and participate in this phase of selection.
Remember that your eligibility for the 2008-2009 academic year expires at 9:00 am on Monday, December 3, 2007. You must enter the residence hall selection phase and select a space to get housing. You may not select housing after that phase. If you have not selected housing by that time, your eligibility will be voided and we will continue offering housing to students on the wait list.
Residence Hall Application & Apartment Space:
This is a reminder that sign-up for Residence Halls begins at noon on Monday, November 26, 2007 and ends at noon on Wednesday, November 28, 2007. Vacancies in partially filled apartments and fully vacant apartments will also be offered during this selection period. We will run a computer sort of all applications and notify you of results by noon on Thursday, November 29, 2007.
Sign up for this phase may be as an individual, as a group of two (2) or a group of four (4). There will not be the ability during this phase for groups of three (3) to sign up. Individual and groups of two will only be able to select from among residence halls and vacant spaces in partially filled apartments. Groups of four will only be able to pick from among completely vacant apartments. Please be aware that each group must designate a Group Sponsor who will enter the group's application and be responsible for selecting housing for the group. Each member of the group will need to provide the Group Sponsor with his or her Housing Selection Code.
All applications will be done online. Individuals signing up should go their Housing-at-a-Glance page to submit an application. For students signing up in groups of two or four, the Group Sponsor should go to Housing's web site: http://housing.georgetown.edu/academic and click on his/her Housing-at-a-Glance page to submit an application. When you click on Residence Hall Applications, the Group Sponsor's name will appear. Do NOT enter yourself as part of the group, since the computer already has recorded your name and selection code. Enter the other roommate's Housing Selection Code.
We will generate selection numbers for all applications we receive for this phase of housing selection. Groups are first assigned a random number. Applications will then be ranked in order of selection points of the applicants (an average is taken of the total group points). For example, all groups with an average of four points would sort first, followed by groups with lower group averages. Then groups would be sorted by random number within each group of selection points. For example, the computer sort would determine who selects first among all the groups with an average of three points.
You should not consider yourself as having completed the sign-up process until you have received a confirmation e-mail sent to your @ georgetown.edu address. It is important that you save this e-mail for future reference. Should you encounter any technical difficulty, when signing up, please contact the housing office immediately. Technical difficulties will not be accepted as a reason for failure to sign up.
